Novele is looking for an experienced Battery Systems Architect.
Duties: Define and develop Battery System architecture, overall system communication protocols, as well as power system designs over the entire product lifecycle. Develop proprietary technologies, including pack designs, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and software controls, utilizing various modeling and simulation tools, including MATLAB, PSIM, PLECS, and schematic and layout software such as Altium. Leading the development of BMS hardware design, from initiation to launch with all homologation completed. Working with embedded software engineers to ensure hardware and software integration is efficient and robust. Determining requirements and issuing Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOM) for all electrical design components, from Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) to individual electrical components. Representing electrical engineers at supplier meetings and ensuring suppliers meet parts delivery criteria from a quality and timing perspective. Working with embedded-software and test engineers to design testing systems and provide hands on support for testing system builds. Providing architecture support for all electrical design efforts, including harness build, PCBA reworks and test fixture builds.
Requirements: Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus two (2) years of electrical engineering, battery engineering, power electronics engineering or related experience: designing and developing Battery Management Systems; developing electrical and electronics hardware from sketch to manufacturing; creating system level architectures based on electrical circuits, battery technologies, and control boards; using PSIM and Simulink for circuit design and analysis; using Altium Designer for schematics design and capture to generate schematics for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs); developing inverter control algorithms in MATLAB; maximizing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) by qualification testing and development; and, testing and debugging electrical hardware for product development and manufacturing.
